August update

I know I haven’t updated in a long time and I am sorry for that. I have been dealing with a lot of depression lately. This is an incredibly short update but I just want to let you know that I am alive and hanging on. I will be back with a better update later.

Short update

Not much to say now. I'm still taking a breather. I still need a break. I'm still dealing with depression. However, I don't want to stay silent for too long.

Break

All right, I never thought I'd get to this point in my career but I need to take a break in it. My depression is just getting worse with each day and I'm feeling worse about everything that I'm writing. I don't want to put out something that I'm going to hate. I've done that before and it didn't make me happy  nor anyone else. I don't want to force myself to hate what I do. So I need to step down for just a little bit. Don't worry, I still have stuff that will come out. It's just not coming out as fast. So what does that mean?

The merman book will most likely come out August 1st.
Soulmates is still scheduled for a fall release.
Perfect Human #4 is almost done but I don't know if I can get it out by November. I'll try.
Everything else? I don't know.

I'll try to update but until I feel like I love my writing again, I need the break.

Much love,

~C

June updates

All right, there are a few things to get out of here for June. The first is that you may have noticed I'm not as active on social media right now. The reason for it is that I'm going through some personal issues right now. Depression is hitting me hard and it's tough to keep up with anything. I've deactivated FB for the time being but I still have my Twitter and blogs to update. I will also get June's newsletter out too in a few days.

Secondly, the next book I will have out is called Beneath the Painted Ocean. It is an m/m in the world of mermaids/mermen. I don't think I will have it out before SASS 17, I'm afraid. I'm due for a cover design in July and I will be gone from June 22nd to July 14th. So I'm aiming for a July 18th release date for this book. I'm still trying to wrap up Perfect Human #4 too but that's moving slower than expected. I'm trying to slow down my own writing as a result.

Yes, I am still going to SASS 17. I probably won't bring anything brand new and I'm not ordering new swag since I have ton of the old swag left over. After that, I truly don't know what will happen in terms of signings. Truth be told, I'm not sure of my writing career because things have turned around.

So right now, I'm mostly focusing on:

Diamonds and Lipstick (A Crossing Paths side story)
Perfect Human: 4, 5, and 6
Chasing Roy G. Biv (brand new novel)

Somehow, someway, I will try to get my love of writing back. Right now, it feels more like writing to live and less like living to write.

A mid-Month update

Hello and welcome to the mid-May update. Again, not a whole lot to talk about. I'm still waiting on Crossing Paths #2 to come back to me. I know it's taking a while (it's still with my editor which makes me think that I've done a lot worse than usual) but I still plan on getting it out by June 1st. It is the continuation to Lilacs and Vanilla.
One thing I did manage was releasing Perfect Human #3: The Rose Hill Institute. It is out now. I've gotten through books 4 & 5 of that one and started 6 as well. I'm taking from 6 right now to catch up on other things.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071NZRDGZ

Most notable is that I'm writing an m/m novel (well, two of them but one is further than the other). One is a side story from Crossing Paths (the original characters will be in it but they are more side characters this time around) and one is a merman m/m story. The latter is the one I'm further on right now. I also have some side projects as well.
Other than that, I'm slipping into depression again. It sucks and I'm struggling with each day. I won't go into details but I hope I can heal in time.
Much love,
~C

Late update

Hello and welcome to another update from me. I'm back to my computer and slowly catching up to everything. I will make an announcement that Perfect Human #3: The Rose Hill Institute will be out tomorrow! (Or maybe tonight if things go well). Crossing Paths #2: Dancing With Daffodils should be out later this month. It's with my editor and hopefully she'll get that back to me by the end of the week (she was in Chicago during the weekend).

As for other works, I've got to wrap up PH #4, get back into P&P #4, and somewhere on the line, catch up with TRA #4. There are also three original books coming out too. When, I'm not sure. I'm trying to settle in while wrap up so much. Right now, I've organized the PH series and I have up to book seven plotted out. (I assume this series will be at least ten books, possible twelve if the story takes me in other directions. It won't go beyond that though).

Also to note that my book prices may be going up a little bit. Not by too much, just a tad. I will still have sales and freebies throughout the year though! Be on a lookout for those.
That's about it for now. More to come later,

~C

In Like a Lion...

Hello and welcome to March. First off, I have to apologize for a severe lack of updates in February. The reason for it is that my husband and I were going through some personal stuff. However, a lot of it has been resolved. We are actually going to move to Texas in a few weeks. Neither of us has been there before so that will be something to look forward. It will be a challenge for both of us. With that said, I probably won’t get too much more writing done during this time. I’ll probably get a regular writing schedule back once we’ve settled in.
So here’s the schedule. I leave next week for North Carolina to do Authors In the City. While there, I will try to write but no guarantees on anything. I do have good news and that’s that I finally hit 50K on Perfect Human #4. I need to clean up #3 first. After that, I’m going to try to get to 30K on Crossing Paths #2, 30K on Patterns & Parallels #4, try to get back to my PC special, and maybe a little something new. We’ll see though.
On a plus side, Perfect Human #2 is finally out. I got it out in time! Perfect Human #1 is also available though I think you can understand things in #2 pretty well. #3 and #4 are where things get pretty intense though.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XCXB6YK
As soon as I’m settled down, I’ll get back to using my social media more often. I think I’m on Twitter the most at the moment. It’s easy to get small thoughts out. @CyberPeacock is where you can find me. I will also try to get the newsletter out before I leave!

Long overdue post

I am sincerely sorry for the lack of updates this month. I’m just trying to buckle down and get everything ready before Authors In the City next month. I have to slow down a little bit since we have a bit of a financial issue right now. Throw in my own personal issues and I’m worn out. Hopefully, March will go a little easier.
The newest Portman’s book, Blood Drops and Desperate Measures, is finally out. I’m sorry I took so long to announce this. I’ve been so busy with so many things at once. Also out is the audiobook for Castles In Flames and Ice #1: Rebirth. I’ve done a poor job of marketing this month and I want to apologize. That was the last thing on my mind and I will try to get back into it soon. I’m hoping our situation gets better so I can focus on finishing up some stuff.
The next book to come out will probably be Perfect Human #2. Then it’s up in the air until Crossing Paths #2 comes out in April or May. Other things are getting worked on slowly but surely. At the moment, I’m just writing like I’m running out of time.
That’s it for now. Hopefully, more will come next month.

Mid-January updates

Hello, and welcome to the middle of January. It's been a very busy month regarding writing. Some of you may have seen that Castles In Flames and Ice #1: Rebirth is out now on Amazon. Castles In Flames and Ice #2: Return will be released February 1st. In case you're wondering, no, there won't be a third book to this series. It ends right here.

Secondly, I have completely my next book in the Portman's Creamery series, Blood Drops and Desperate Measures. It's a book focusing on Stacey. Now we're going back around with the girls again. I'm also working on The Reaper's Apprentices #4, started another PC arc mystery, wrapping up Perfect Human #2 and #3, and I'm trying to get back to writing Patterns & Parallels #4. I got halfway through that and let it sit on the back burner for a while. Getting back into that universe will be tough but I will try. There are a few others thing I started but I don't know if I will finish them. Other works are calling.

I got my first little bit of new swag for the new books for AITC #17. They did end up giving me a ton of other people's magnets by accident so they told me to discard those. I feel bad for those people whose magnets I got.

Anyway, it's time to get back to work! Too bad my day job is a bit slow these days. I'm spending the time writing other stuff.

Welcome 2017

Hello and welcome to 2017. A new means new work and does mean some changes came to my stuff. You may notice the big changes is that there is a new book out. Yes, it was a surprise release. Some of you may have heard of me talking about a skating romance and I did complete both it and its sequel. I gave my sequel to the editor today and am waiting on the cover art. I’m aiming for February 1st for the sequel’s release. In the meantime, check out the first book. It’s called Castles In Flames and Ice. Book One is called Rebirth and Book Two is called Return.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MU73KVJ
.
Secondly, you may have noticed that some books are down. I have unpublished them for the time being. It’s only so I can focus and try to finish up some other lingering things. Castles is the first series I’ve actually completed. I’m hoping I can complete something else soon.

Third, I finally got my pre-order form for Authors In the City up. I’m only bringing six books to this one unless someone requests something else. I don’t want to bog myself with too many books. I’ve also started ordering some swag for it.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Oc4qDCuHbBO6LPtaZO__cRUsfyvwWAFaJyf1-QaqbPc/edit

As my birthday approaches on Thursday, I’m thinking of how to change the way I do things. There will be more changes coming along. More news on that soon.

One last post for 2016

I just want to make one more post regarding things with writing. I have taken down some of my books FOR THE TIME BEING. That doesn’t mean I’ve given up writing them. It doesn’t mean I will stop writing them. I just need to focus and finish some other stuff before getting into these again. I just took down the ones that are the least priority now. I also want to publish them elsewhere. They will be back! I promise you that!

Secondly, my decision was also affected by the people around me. I have not had a good holiday season, I’m sorry to report. I don’t want to go into details regarding that. Let’s just say that I’ve taken quite a few blows and it’s knocked me down. It’s hard to keep standing when you’re falling apart deep inside. So I had to prioritize and focus on one thing at a time. 2016 was a pretty poor year and I don’t think 2017 will be much better.

Finally, here’s my book on Kindle Scout for nominations. I doubt I will get a contract for this but in either case, I’m aiming for early February for its release. I want it to be out around February 1st.

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/author/campaigns?ref_=ks_on_cs

Perfect Human #2 will probably be the first book of 2017. Once my mother leaves next week, I will attempt to finish it and have it by mid-January 2017.

That’s it for now. I hope you all have a better new year that I’m going to have.

Happy Holidays and more.

I hope you are all having a good holiday and enjoying the time. Things are all right with me.

Anyway, I’ve decided to try Kindle Scout and launch a campaign for my newest book, Castles In Flames and Ice. The nomination page is here. If you’d like to, please nominate me. It would mean so much. Thank you ahead for your time.

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2OUE5NNABP4M3

That’s about it for now. I’ll be back in 2017 with more news.

A slight update

Hello, and welcome to an update right before the holidays. Writing has been going very smoothly. I’m trying to tie up loose ends on Perfect Human #2. I’m hoping to have that book out in January. The cover has come to me already so I need to finish over the weekend. Another book that’s almost ready to come out is a skating f/f romance, Castles In Flames and Ice. It’s a two part series. Book One is called Rebirth. Book Two, which is currently at 14K, will be called Return. It may be the quickest that I actually finish a series.

Currently, the books that I’m trying to write are Perfect Human #3, Book Two of the Castles In Flames and Ice series, Portman’s Creamery #6, and The Reaper’s Apprentices #4. Once one of these books is close to completion, I’m starting Crossing Paths #2. No title for that yet but it will be started early 2017.

A lot of writing plans are unknown right now. I’ve got to get into the right mind-frame for some of them. Another I should mention is that I will be changing the covers the TRA books again. That will probably happen around January with the first book. A lot is going to happen next year. I’m praying it’ll be better than this year was.

That’s about all for now. I’ll be back before the new year rolls in.

December news

Hello and welcome to the first post for December. Writing has been going well if nothing else. I'm back to Omaha but that doesn't mean I slowed down writing. I started book 3 of Perfect Human, added a little more to The Reaper's Apprentices #4, add more to Portman's #6, and other things. However, the main thing I did was write and finish a story called Castles In Flames and Ice. It's a two-part series with the first part called Rebirth. Book two, which I will probably start soon, will be called Return. This book is an ice skating f/f romance (yes, I was slightly inspired by Yuri On Ice but it's far different story). I'm amazed that I finished it so fast.

Okay, on the side of releases...Midnight Lessons will be re-released on Monday. Yes, it's coming back. The audiobook is out on Audible right now and the ebook will be soon. Make note that is for ages 18 and up. It is also very short.

Thirdly, looking at stock photos for figure skating is kind of hilarious. Some of the faces they make when jumping and spinning...I can't fault them for it, of course. It's hard to keep a straight face for that. But it's still kinda funny. I need them for some teasers and it's hard to find some that fit my characters.

In the meantime, I'm making changes for a lot of things. Here is what is in store for 2017 so far:

Castles in Flames and Ice #1 & #2
The Reaper's Apprentices #4 and the prequel
Perfect Human #2 (and possibly #3)
A short story collection
Crossing Paths #2
Portman's Creamery #6

Those are for certain, the rest is up in the air including Patterns #4 and Ghosts #3. Of course, you can never say never to anything.

That's about it for now. I have to do my December newsletter as well. I'll be back later,

~C

A quick November update

I’m going to leave for North Carolina in two days and I’ll be heading home to spend some time for the holidays. That means I’ve been busy and writing my tail off. A few things have happened. The main thing that happened is that I completed NaNoWriMo. I had to put aside my original idea and go into something else instead. That something else turned out to be the sequel to Perfect Human. While the book itself is not complete yet, at least I’m at 50K. I will complete that when I come back home in a few weeks.
The second thing that I’ve been talking about is a figure skating romance story. I’m not entirely sure if that will be one novel or two yet. If it is two, I’m still struggling on the series name. It won’t be a long series though. I have so much on my plate that I also need to complete. The skating story is already at 20K and I won’t be surprised if it comes out next year.
Thirdly is that The Summer Key is finally out. It took some time but it’s out. It’s on sale for a few days too.
Fourth, the audiobook for Lilacs and Vanilla is also out. Check it out!
That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with more good news in the future, I hope.

Big changes

Hello, everyone. I apologize for staying away from social media for a while. This has been a rough week and I’ve had to do a lot of things. I’m physically and emotionally drained right now. There are some things that happened that led me to make certain decisions. They are the decisions that are going to affect my writing and my career.

The first thing is that I have left Solstice. I will not discuss the reasons why I chose to leave but it was my decision. That means all my books with them are back with me. I’ll be re-uploading both The Sugar Mountain Murders and The Winter Key on my own. Slight changes will be made but nothing major to them. Midnight Lessons will also be uploaded (although that will be a December thing). The Summer Key, which was supposed to come on the 15th, has been postponed to the 22nd. The shorts that I had with them will now be going into an anthology for next year.

Secondly, and I feel bad about this, Perfect Human #1 came out on Tuesday. Probably a bad idea to release this on election day. I should have waited till next week for it. My mind was not on promoting. That was all my fault.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M736N11

Thirdly, I changed my mind on my NaNo project. Instead, it’s going to be Perfect Human #2. At the moment, it’s the only thing I really feel like writing. It started when I started the other book so it’s okay. Right now, it’s pretty cathartic. I didn’t want to get into the sequel right now but it’s all that’s helping me.

As the days, I’m going to add my stories back and keep control of them. I have some plans for 2017 but for now, I need to reel back and reflect. I’m not ready for anything yet.

NaNo and more

Hello and welcome to November of 2016! Can you believe this year is almost over? In a way, I'm relieved. It's been a very stressful year, it had its share of good and bad moments, and it has flown by fast. I'm trying to organize my writing schedule for 2017 now. Nothing is absolutely certain yet but I have a tentative idea of what I want to release.

I should mention that A Bitter Pill to Swallow is out now. A quick novella in the Portman's Creamery series and Winky's first book. I'm surprised this finished as quickly as it did.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9G1VL9

Also coming out soon is a new book, a sci-fic/science series, called Perfect Human. Book one will be out on Tuesday (yay, election day).

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M736N11

And...there are some smaller works out in anthologies! Check out Christmas in the City II from the AITC authors (myself included). I have yet to order my paperback of it but I plan to do so. 47 positive reviews and counting! It's all going to charity as well to help those with cancer patients in their families and who need help paying off their bills.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG2KX3A

Then there is Solstice's horror/paranormal anthology, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Vol 3. I've got a story in that as well and you can get that separately.

https://www.amazon.com/Now-Lay-Down-Sleep-Vol-ebook/dp/B01M29O4I9

Here is the story on its own:

https://www.amazon.com/Girl-Only-One-Arm-ebook/dp/B01MG923IZ

We're supposed to get our holiday anthology out soon but I have yet to get my edits. Hopefully, they will send it to me Monday and I can send it off on Tuesday morning. The short of this anthology is a short Portman's Creamery story.

All right, NaNoWriMo talk. It's the first time in five years that I've gone back to NaNoWriMo. I always win but I have been so caught up trying to write all my other books. This new book is a fantasy/romance type book. We've got mermaids in this one. I'm not too concerned about editing at this moment. I just want to get the words out first. Once it's more or less done, I will focus on edits. Right now, I'm writing that as well as writing Perfect Human #2. I didn't want to get into that one so soon but it gripped me and it wouldn't let me go. Go figure.

Anyway, I'll get back to my writing and I'll try to get my latest newsletter out too. I go home to North Carolina towards the end of the month as well so I have to hurry.

Love,

~C

Some links!

I know what you’re thinking. I’ve come back with another update. However, I come back with links. That’s what I have been waiting for!

The first link is to the new Portman’s Creamery story, A Bitter Pill to Swallow. This is Winky’s first mystery and it will be live on Nov 1st.You can go ahead and preorder it now! Even though it says number five, you technically don’t need to read the first four to get this. The PC books don’t follow a timeline so you can start right here.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9G1VL9

The second is a link to the Solstice anthology, As I Lay Me Down To Sleep Vol 3. I have a story in this anthology. This isn’t a prompt from any series, just a straight-forward ghost story.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M29O4I9

Finally, the AITC anthology is coming out Nov 1st. Pre-order is still available for only 99 cents! 11 novellas, 11 great stories! Yes, I’m included in this too.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG2KX3A

There! I think I’ve covered it all! Now time for some rest.

Quick update

I know I just did an update yesterday but time for another one. I swear I will try not to update too fast. I should have probably waited until today to make my updates. As it is, I've got more definite stuff now.

New updated release dates!

A Bitter Pill to Swallow - Nov 1st
Perfect Human #1: Project 99 - Nov 8th
The Summer Key - Nov 15th

I swear I wasn't trying to release everything November but it ended up being that way. I'm also planning a radio interview on Nov 16th. More details for that coming a little later down the line.
Now back to your scheduled program.

A change in plans

Hello and welcome to a short update on my current writing status. I won't take much of your time. I just want to say that we may have to make some changes. First off, I don't think I will have anything coming out next week. I'm still waiting on edited changes for Perfect Human #1 and I'm waiting on my covers for A Bitter Pill to Swallow. Also, I'm waiting on my publisher's next move for The Summer Key. Edits are done, now comes the next part. The only thing that I am certain is coming out is the horror/paranormal anthology, As I Lay Me Down to Sleep (Vol 3) and Christmas In the City II (AITC's anthology). They will be released Oct 28th and Nov 1st respectively.

Right now, it's just a waiting game. Whoever delivers first gets uploaded first. As for me, I'm busy planning out my NaNoWriMo novel. I really want to start writing it now. I'm really excited about this idea. I won't reveal much except that it doesn't follow any series I'm writing and it's a standalone. The genre is fantasy romance. That's all you're getting for now.

We're also close to 4000 likes on my FB author page! I'm deciding whether to do a party or giveaways. We'll decide that as we get a little closer.

That's it for now. Just want to mention a change in plans.
