A quick November update

I’m going to leave for North Carolina in two days and I’ll be heading home to spend some time for the holidays. That means I’ve been busy and writing my tail off. A few things have happened. The main thing that happened is that I completed NaNoWriMo. I had to put aside my original idea and go into something else instead. That something else turned out to be the sequel to Perfect Human. While the book itself is not complete yet, at least I’m at 50K. I will complete that when I come back home in a few weeks.
The second thing that I’ve been talking about is a figure skating romance story. I’m not entirely sure if that will be one novel or two yet. If it is two, I’m still struggling on the series name. It won’t be a long series though. I have so much on my plate that I also need to complete. The skating story is already at 20K and I won’t be surprised if it comes out next year.
Thirdly is that The Summer Key is finally out. It took some time but it’s out. It’s on sale for a few days too.
Fourth, the audiobook for Lilacs and Vanilla is also out. Check it out!
That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with more good news in the future, I hope.

Big changes

Hello, everyone. I apologize for staying away from social media for a while. This has been a rough week and I’ve had to do a lot of things. I’m physically and emotionally drained right now. There are some things that happened that led me to make certain decisions. They are the decisions that are going to affect my writing and my career.

The first thing is that I have left Solstice. I will not discuss the reasons why I chose to leave but it was my decision. That means all my books with them are back with me. I’ll be re-uploading both The Sugar Mountain Murders and The Winter Key on my own. Slight changes will be made but nothing major to them. Midnight Lessons will also be uploaded (although that will be a December thing). The Summer Key, which was supposed to come on the 15th, has been postponed to the 22nd. The shorts that I had with them will now be going into an anthology for next year.

Secondly, and I feel bad about this, Perfect Human #1 came out on Tuesday. Probably a bad idea to release this on election day. I should have waited till next week for it. My mind was not on promoting. That was all my fault.

Thirdly, I changed my mind on my NaNo project. Instead, it’s going to be Perfect Human #2. At the moment, it’s the only thing I really feel like writing. It started when I started the other book so it’s okay. Right now, it’s pretty cathartic. I didn’t want to get into the sequel right now but it’s all that’s helping me.

As the days, I’m going to add my stories back and keep control of them. I have some plans for 2017 but for now, I need to reel back and reflect. I’m not ready for anything yet.

NaNo and more

Hello and welcome to November of 2016! Can you believe this year is almost over? In a way, I'm relieved. It's been a very stressful year, it had its share of good and bad moments, and it has flown by fast. I'm trying to organize my writing schedule for 2017 now. Nothing is absolutely certain yet but I have a tentative idea of what I want to release.

I should mention that A Bitter Pill to Swallow is out now. A quick novella in the Portman's Creamery series and Winky's first book. I'm surprised this finished as quickly as it did.

Also coming out soon is a new book, a sci-fic/science series, called Perfect Human. Book one will be out on Tuesday (yay, election day).

And...there are some smaller works out in anthologies! Check out Christmas in the City II from the AITC authors (myself included). I have yet to order my paperback of it but I plan to do so. 47 positive reviews and counting! It's all going to charity as well to help those with cancer patients in their families and who need help paying off their bills.

Then there is Solstice's horror/paranormal anthology, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Vol 3. I've got a story in that as well and you can get that separately.

Here is the story on its own:

We're supposed to get our holiday anthology out soon but I have yet to get my edits. Hopefully, they will send it to me Monday and I can send it off on Tuesday morning. The short of this anthology is a short Portman's Creamery story.

All right, NaNoWriMo talk. It's the first time in five years that I've gone back to NaNoWriMo. I always win but I have been so caught up trying to write all my other books. This new book is a fantasy/romance type book. We've got mermaids in this one. I'm not too concerned about editing at this moment. I just want to get the words out first. Once it's more or less done, I will focus on edits. Right now, I'm writing that as well as writing Perfect Human #2. I didn't want to get into that one so soon but it gripped me and it wouldn't let me go. Go figure.

Anyway, I'll get back to my writing and I'll try to get my latest newsletter out too. I go home to North Carolina towards the end of the month as well so I have to hurry.

Love,

~C
