One last post for 2016

I just want to make one more post regarding things with writing. I have taken down some of my books FOR THE TIME BEING. That doesn’t mean I’ve given up writing them. It doesn’t mean I will stop writing them. I just need to focus and finish some other stuff before getting into these again. I just took down the ones that are the least priority now. I also want to publish them elsewhere. They will be back! I promise you that!

Secondly, my decision was also affected by the people around me. I have not had a good holiday season, I’m sorry to report. I don’t want to go into details regarding that. Let’s just say that I’ve taken quite a few blows and it’s knocked me down. It’s hard to keep standing when you’re falling apart deep inside. So I had to prioritize and focus on one thing at a time. 2016 was a pretty poor year and I don’t think 2017 will be much better.

Finally, here’s my book on Kindle Scout for nominations. I doubt I will get a contract for this but in either case, I’m aiming for early February for its release. I want it to be out around February 1st.

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/author/campaigns?ref_=ks_on_cs

Perfect Human #2 will probably be the first book of 2017. Once my mother leaves next week, I will attempt to finish it and have it by mid-January 2017.

That’s it for now. I hope you all have a better new year that I’m going to have.

Happy Holidays and more.

I hope you are all having a good holiday and enjoying the time. Things are all right with me.

Anyway, I’ve decided to try Kindle Scout and launch a campaign for my newest book, Castles In Flames and Ice. The nomination page is here. If you’d like to, please nominate me. It would mean so much. Thank you ahead for your time.

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2OUE5NNABP4M3

That’s about it for now. I’ll be back in 2017 with more news.

A slight update

Hello, and welcome to an update right before the holidays. Writing has been going very smoothly. I’m trying to tie up loose ends on Perfect Human #2. I’m hoping to have that book out in January. The cover has come to me already so I need to finish over the weekend. Another book that’s almost ready to come out is a skating f/f romance, Castles In Flames and Ice. It’s a two part series. Book One is called Rebirth. Book Two, which is currently at 14K, will be called Return. It may be the quickest that I actually finish a series.

Currently, the books that I’m trying to write are Perfect Human #3, Book Two of the Castles In Flames and Ice series, Portman’s Creamery #6, and The Reaper’s Apprentices #4. Once one of these books is close to completion, I’m starting Crossing Paths #2. No title for that yet but it will be started early 2017.

A lot of writing plans are unknown right now. I’ve got to get into the right mind-frame for some of them. Another I should mention is that I will be changing the covers the TRA books again. That will probably happen around January with the first book. A lot is going to happen next year. I’m praying it’ll be better than this year was.

That’s about all for now. I’ll be back before the new year rolls in.

December news

Hello and welcome to the first post for December. Writing has been going well if nothing else. I'm back to Omaha but that doesn't mean I slowed down writing. I started book 3 of Perfect Human, added a little more to The Reaper's Apprentices #4, add more to Portman's #6, and other things. However, the main thing I did was write and finish a story called Castles In Flames and Ice. It's a two-part series with the first part called Rebirth. Book two, which I will probably start soon, will be called Return. This book is an ice skating f/f romance (yes, I was slightly inspired by Yuri On Ice but it's far different story). I'm amazed that I finished it so fast.

Okay, on the side of releases...Midnight Lessons will be re-released on Monday. Yes, it's coming back. The audiobook is out on Audible right now and the ebook will be soon. Make note that is for ages 18 and up. It is also very short.

Thirdly, looking at stock photos for figure skating is kind of hilarious. Some of the faces they make when jumping and spinning...I can't fault them for it, of course. It's hard to keep a straight face for that. But it's still kinda funny. I need them for some teasers and it's hard to find some that fit my characters.

In the meantime, I'm making changes for a lot of things. Here is what is in store for 2017 so far:

Castles in Flames and Ice #1 & #2
The Reaper's Apprentices #4 and the prequel
Perfect Human #2 (and possibly #3)
A short story collection
Crossing Paths #2
Portman's Creamery #6

Those are for certain, the rest is up in the air including Patterns #4 and Ghosts #3. Of course, you can never say never to anything.

That's about it for now. I have to do my December newsletter as well. I'll be back later,

A quick November update

I’m going to leave for North Carolina in two days and I’ll be heading home to spend some time for the holidays. That means I’ve been busy and writing my tail off. A few things have happened. The main thing that happened is that I completed NaNoWriMo. I had to put aside my original idea and go into something else instead. That something else turned out to be the sequel to Perfect Human. While the book itself is not complete yet, at least I’m at 50K. I will complete that when I come back home in a few weeks.
The second thing that I’ve been talking about is a figure skating romance story. I’m not entirely sure if that will be one novel or two yet. If it is two, I’m still struggling on the series name. It won’t be a long series though. I have so much on my plate that I also need to complete. The skating story is already at 20K and I won’t be surprised if it comes out next year.
Thirdly is that The Summer Key is finally out. It took some time but it’s out. It’s on sale for a few days too.
Fourth, the audiobook for Lilacs and Vanilla is also out. Check it out!
That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with more good news in the future, I hope.

Big changes

Hello, everyone. I apologize for staying away from social media for a while. This has been a rough week and I’ve had to do a lot of things. I’m physically and emotionally drained right now. There are some things that happened that led me to make certain decisions. They are the decisions that are going to affect my writing and my career.

The first thing is that I have left Solstice. I will not discuss the reasons why I chose to leave but it was my decision. That means all my books with them are back with me. I’ll be re-uploading both The Sugar Mountain Murders and The Winter Key on my own. Slight changes will be made but nothing major to them. Midnight Lessons will also be uploaded (although that will be a December thing). The Summer Key, which was supposed to come on the 15th, has been postponed to the 22nd. The shorts that I had with them will now be going into an anthology for next year.

Secondly, and I feel bad about this, Perfect Human #1 came out on Tuesday. Probably a bad idea to release this on election day. I should have waited till next week for it. My mind was not on promoting. That was all my fault.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M736N11

Thirdly, I changed my mind on my NaNo project. Instead, it’s going to be Perfect Human #2. At the moment, it’s the only thing I really feel like writing. It started when I started the other book so it’s okay. Right now, it’s pretty cathartic. I didn’t want to get into the sequel right now but it’s all that’s helping me.

As the days, I’m going to add my stories back and keep control of them. I have some plans for 2017 but for now, I need to reel back and reflect. I’m not ready for anything yet.

NaNo and more

Hello and welcome to November of 2016! Can you believe this year is almost over? In a way, I'm relieved. It's been a very stressful year, it had its share of good and bad moments, and it has flown by fast. I'm trying to organize my writing schedule for 2017 now. Nothing is absolutely certain yet but I have a tentative idea of what I want to release.

I should mention that A Bitter Pill to Swallow is out now. A quick novella in the Portman's Creamery series and Winky's first book. I'm surprised this finished as quickly as it did.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9G1VL9

Also coming out soon is a new book, a sci-fic/science series, called Perfect Human. Book one will be out on Tuesday (yay, election day).

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M736N11

And...there are some smaller works out in anthologies! Check out Christmas in the City II from the AITC authors (myself included). I have yet to order my paperback of it but I plan to do so. 47 positive reviews and counting! It's all going to charity as well to help those with cancer patients in their families and who need help paying off their bills.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG2KX3A

Then there is Solstice's horror/paranormal anthology, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Vol 3. I've got a story in that as well and you can get that separately.

https://www.amazon.com/Now-Lay-Down-Sleep-Vol-ebook/dp/B01M29O4I9

Here is the story on its own:

https://www.amazon.com/Girl-Only-One-Arm-ebook/dp/B01MG923IZ

We're supposed to get our holiday anthology out soon but I have yet to get my edits. Hopefully, they will send it to me Monday and I can send it off on Tuesday morning. The short of this anthology is a short Portman's Creamery story.

All right, NaNoWriMo talk. It's the first time in five years that I've gone back to NaNoWriMo. I always win but I have been so caught up trying to write all my other books. This new book is a fantasy/romance type book. We've got mermaids in this one. I'm not too concerned about editing at this moment. I just want to get the words out first. Once it's more or less done, I will focus on edits. Right now, I'm writing that as well as writing Perfect Human #2. I didn't want to get into that one so soon but it gripped me and it wouldn't let me go. Go figure.

Anyway, I'll get back to my writing and I'll try to get my latest newsletter out too. I go home to North Carolina towards the end of the month as well so I have to hurry.

Love,

~C

Some links!

I know what you’re thinking. I’ve come back with another update. However, I come back with links. That’s what I have been waiting for!

The first link is to the new Portman’s Creamery story, A Bitter Pill to Swallow. This is Winky’s first mystery and it will be live on Nov 1st.You can go ahead and preorder it now! Even though it says number five, you technically don’t need to read the first four to get this. The PC books don’t follow a timeline so you can start right here.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9G1VL9

The second is a link to the Solstice anthology, As I Lay Me Down To Sleep Vol 3. I have a story in this anthology. This isn’t a prompt from any series, just a straight-forward ghost story.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M29O4I9

Finally, the AITC anthology is coming out Nov 1st. Pre-order is still available for only 99 cents! 11 novellas, 11 great stories! Yes, I’m included in this too.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG2KX3A

There! I think I’ve covered it all! Now time for some rest.

Quick update

I know I just did an update yesterday but time for another one. I swear I will try not to update too fast. I should have probably waited until today to make my updates. As it is, I've got more definite stuff now.

New updated release dates!

A Bitter Pill to Swallow - Nov 1st
Perfect Human #1: Project 99 - Nov 8th
The Summer Key - Nov 15th

I swear I wasn't trying to release everything November but it ended up being that way. I'm also planning a radio interview on Nov 16th. More details for that coming a little later down the line.
Now back to your scheduled program.

A change in plans

Hello and welcome to a short update on my current writing status. I won't take much of your time. I just want to say that we may have to make some changes. First off, I don't think I will have anything coming out next week. I'm still waiting on edited changes for Perfect Human #1 and I'm waiting on my covers for A Bitter Pill to Swallow. Also, I'm waiting on my publisher's next move for The Summer Key. Edits are done, now comes the next part. The only thing that I am certain is coming out is the horror/paranormal anthology, As I Lay Me Down to Sleep (Vol 3) and Christmas In the City II (AITC's anthology). They will be released Oct 28th and Nov 1st respectively.

Right now, it's just a waiting game. Whoever delivers first gets uploaded first. As for me, I'm busy planning out my NaNoWriMo novel. I really want to start writing it now. I'm really excited about this idea. I won't reveal much except that it doesn't follow any series I'm writing and it's a standalone. The genre is fantasy romance. That's all you're getting for now.

We're also close to 4000 likes on my FB author page! I'm deciding whether to do a party or giveaways. We'll decide that as we get a little closer.

That's it for now. Just want to mention a change in plans.

Big changes are coming

Hello and welcome to another update. November is slowly creeping up on us now and the year is almost over. In doing so, my last couple of books are going to come out soon. All I’m doing is waiting. I’m waiting on Perfect Human #1 to come back from the editor and I’m waiting on my final covers for A Bitter Pill to Swallow. As soon as they come, those books will be out. I’m aiming for an Nov 1st release for Perfect Human #1. I was hoping to get A Bitter Pill to Swallow out at the end of this month but that may not happen. A lot of things can change. The main thing to know is that as soon as I get something back, we’re moving forward. As for The Summer Key, my editor is out of town this weekend but I think we’ll be moving forward with that too.

Now here’s the big news. I’m about to do something that I haven’t done in five years. I’m participating in NaNoWriMo. The reason I haven’t done this in a long time is because I’ve been busy trying to finish up other books. However, this idea came to me recently and I really want to work on it. NaNo is the perfect time to do that. I have the title, Roses of the Ocean. The plot will be revealed a little later. I will say that this is not part of any series, big or small. It’s a standalone. It is fantasy and romance. That is as far as I’m telling right now. For November, that is pretty much all I’m going to work on.

2016 has been quite the year for books. We’ve had long ones, short ones, published traditionally, and self-published. Even though it’s not over yet, I’m wrapping for the year. Here’s what to look forward to next year (likely to change).

The Nights After – The TRA prequel I wanted to release but didn’t finish
Patterns & Parallels #4: Deep In the Heart of the Forest – I will try to get back into this in December
Ghosts of Burning Inn #3: All Around the World – ditto with this. I may even wrap up this series next year with book 4.
Crossing Paths #2 : Untitled as of now – haven’t started it yet but I will
Perfect Human #2: The Chimera – started on it but not putting myself completely into it
Roses of the Ocean – the NaNo project will probably be out early 2017
Delicate Things – my first m/m romance. Working on it now, will come out early 2017 as well

There may also be another Portman’s book as well as TRA #4 and I will try to finish The Autumn Key. There’s a lot going on and a lot that I’m planning. I can’t wait to show all of you!

I hope next week I will have some links for you!

A change of plans

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the latest update! As you can see from the title, we may have a change of plans. First off, I finally got my editor for The Summer Key (same person who did the The Winter Key, which is good). Depending on how long it takes for us to do editing, we may see this book out sometime in November or possibly early December. I know it's weird to have a book called The Summer Key out in winter but that's what's probably going to happen. At latest, it will probably come out in January 2017 (though I highly doubt it). But it's good to know that the ball is rolling with this now.

Secondly, I'm nearing the completion of A Bitter to Swallow (A Winky Smith Mystery) and I plan to have to my editor by Friday. Depending on how long my cover designer takes, this book may also come out by the end of this month. So that will technically come out before it's typical time. Again, it's just a matter of time. Still planning on releasing Perfect Human #1 on Nov 1st and all the anthology dates are still the same.

A slightly updated version of everything then:

Lilacs and Vanilla - released last week
A Bitter Pill to Swallow - aiming for an Oct 25th release date
Perfect Human #1 - aiming for a Nov 1st release date
The Summer Key - aiming for a late Nov or early Dec release date

And here updates for the anthologies:
AITC II anthology - Nov 1st (cover reveal is tomorrow!)
As I Lay Me Down to Sleep #3 (from Solstice) - Oct 28th
A Winter's Holiday (from Solstices) - Nov 28th

After these are out of the way, I'm going to wrap up The Nights Before (the TRA prequel), continue TRA #4, Smoke and Ashes, Ghosts of Burning Inn #3, and Patterns & Parallels #4. We'll see where inspiration strikes first.

Will be back later

October updates

Hello, everyone! The end of the year is so close! As for me, I’m nearing the end of some of these books too. I just gave the Perfect Human draft to my editor and they said they will give it back to me before or on Oct 28th. It’s a little longer than I thought but no worries! That just means it will come out early November instead! Right now, I’m aiming for a Nov 1st release date for this book. If it comes out earlier, even better.

So that just leaves one more book and that’s the fifth Portman’s Creamery mystery (not counting the Black Paradise Circus arc or any shorts I write). It will be Winky’s first mystery and it’s called A Bitter Pill to Swallow. If I can finish it fast enough, I may have that ready by late November or early December. I prefer late November but we’ll see. At the moment, I’m not sure if it will be a full length novel or if it’ll be a novella. This book is moving rather rapidly. It may be out before Perfect Human. I do have to set up a date with my cover designer though.

Also, Lilacs and Vanilla is out early! It’s been a while since I’ve written a book and I’m glad it’s finally out! Come see the latest f/f novel from me!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0JWAPA

Another piece of news I want to mention is that I took Operation: Genome off the market for now. Reason for this is that I’m taking much longer than I want to with the sequel. I don’t think it will be out anytime soon. Instead, what I will do is post book 1 & 2 together when the time comes.

So current schedule (likely to change) of books and stories for 2016:

As I Lay Me Down to Sleep Vol #3 (from Solstice) – Oct 28th
Perfect Human #1  – Nov 1st
AITC Anthology II – Nov 1st
A Winter’s Holiday (from Solstice) – Nov 28th
A Bitter Pill to Swallow – late Nov/early Dec
(Somewhere along the way, I may also throw in a surprise. Just saying)

Books likely to come 2017:

Patterns & Parallels #4: Deep In the Heart of the Forest
Smoke and Ashes (sequel to Sparks and Flames)
Ghosts of Burning Inn #3: All Around the World
The Reaper’s Apprentices prequel
The Reaper’s Apprentices #4: The Dolls of Cocytus
Crossing Paths #2 (Untitled)
The Summer Key
The Autumn Key

This can change at any time though. There’s no release date for any of them yet. We’ll see how I feel and how things go as I continue.

Well, that’s about it for now. Ciao till then.

PreOrder Lilacs and Vanilla

So Lilacs and Vanilla officially comes out on Oct 7th (my husband’s birthday) but we do have the links for pre-order. Pre-order is available for 99 cents early on. It’s a full length LGBT novel. I’m working on getting the paperback out so that will be out in a week or so. However, it for sure will be out on the 7th.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0JWAPA

The other thing to mention is that Perfect Human is nearing completion. Cover for that is ready and I will have it finished by Oct 8th for the editor. I’m sure it will probably take a week or so to edit and I think I’ll probably release that towards the end of October. There will be a November release for The Nights After, The Reaper’s Apprentices prequels.

Anyway, that’s all I wanted to post. Get your copy of Lilacs and Vanilla today!

New books for fall

Hello and welcome back. Today is all about the new books for the fall. I just wrapped up Lilacs and Vanilla yesterday and sent it to my editor. It's a full length f/f novel and the first in a short series. The release date for this will most likely be October 11th. It may come out earlier though no earlier than Oct 7th (my husband's birthday). Yes, it will be available for preorder once I get the book formatted.

Now that this has wrapped up, I'm trying to wrap up Perfect Human #1: Project 99 and my TRA prequel, The Nights Before. PH will probably be out either late Oct or early Nov. The Nights Before will probably come late Nov or early December. That will be it for me this year along with some short stories. I still have no editor for The Summer Key right now. If I don't get one soon, I will plan something else regarding that.

2017's first book will either be Smoke and Ashes, Ghosts of Burning Inn #3, or TRA #4. It depends on how I feel at the moment. No idea when it will be released yet. I'm going to be working full time again so we'll see how things run.

I have to work on my September newsletter now and get that out before the month ends.
Much love,

~C

The future and onwards

Hello and welcome to another update. This one won’t be a long update. I realize I am behind on updating my newsletter but we will have that one ready soon. This post is for updates on future works. Midnight Lessons is back to me for one last check and I plan to release that book on the 12th of September. The Summer Key is with my publisher and I’m waiting on an editor right now. I have also written quite a few short stories and a novella to come out in separate anthologies. I’m also going to put together my own little anthology that I want out by the New Year.

So currently for 2016, we have the following:

Midnight Lessons (novella, erotica) – Sept 2016

Keeper of Fate #2: The Summer Key (novel, fantasy) – I’m hoping sometime Oct but it’ll depend on how much editing I will have to do

The Girl With One Arm (short story, ghost) – for Solstice’s horror anthology to be out Oct 28th

White Glitter (short story, mystery) – a Portman’s mystery for Solstice’s winter anthology to be out Nov 28th

The Lovers of Vale (novella, paranormal/romance) – a Reaper’s Apprentices novella for the AITC II Christmas anthology out around Dec 2016

Perfect Humans #1 (novel, sci-fi) – maybe early October if I’m lucky. This is the project I’m zipping through right now.

Somewhere between this, I plan to finish Lilacs and Vanilla (want it out by late Oct/early Nov 2016) and an anthology of shorts (out by Dec 2016) . I also want to finish Ghosts of Burning Inn #3 this year but we’ll see how things pan out.

This is what’s planned for 2017:

Patterns & Parallels #4
Keepers of Fate #3: The Autumn Key
The Reaper’s Apprentices #4
Flavors of Love #4
Smoke and Ashes (the sequel to Sparks and Flames)
Winky’s first mystery for Portman’s Creamery
Operation: Genome #2
A Cirque Macabre short story for the Solstice love anthology for Feb 17

I haven’t put dates on some of these because I’m not sure what will finish first. If I don’t do Ghosts by end of the year, it will definitely be out first in 2017. Also the final part of the Black Paradise Circus arc will be done too. Needless to say, I have to make up for lost time because of the wedding this summer.

I’m definitely looking forward to writing for the fall. I’m sorry I didn’t really have a summer novel but I will make up for it.

Much love,

~C

September update and free books

Hello and welcome to September. Now that we've more or less settled down after the wedding, I'm back to writing. I haven't written anything huge or big but I've got a couple of short stories done as well as my novella for the AITC II anthology. I'm going to go over the edits tomorrow and send it in and we will be ready!

In the meantime, I have got some freebies up. Some are for a limited time only.
This short story is free all around.

https://www.instafreebie.com/free/UzAq2

The rest of these will stop being free after a certain time.

https://www.instafreebie.com/free/gBpoQ
https://www.instafreebie.com/free/0SUkU
https://www.instafreebie.com/free/PDYj9
https://www.instafreebie.com/free/BiMzO

I apologize for the cover on the last one. It just didn't come out the way I wanted it to. But yeah, these are up for review so if you want to review something, come grab a copy while you can.

Now that most of these smaller works are out of the way, I'm going to get back to my bigger works. I hope to finish Lilacs and Vanilla before the year is over. There's also a new book called Perfect Humans that I may finish this year too. The Summer Key should be out before the year end as well. Everything else is still in the air. I know I didn't do much writing in July because of the wedding. Now I have more free time so I can get back to things. I have to get back into all these different worlds as well. Once I'm in there, we'll be good to go.

Hopefully, I'll get back to updating social media like normal too. Take care.

August Update

Welcome to an August update on my blog! I do apologize for the lack of posts and updates everywhere. As most people, I got married recently and I have moved from North Carolina to Nebraska for the time being. I'm still getting used to everything in Midwest and the transition is not an easy one. Because of all of this, I had to put writing on hold for now. Hence why no summer book this year from me.

Now that I'm more or less settled in here, I'm trying to get some work done. I have finished one short story for a Halloween release. I'm also working on something for the Authors in the City anthology and I want to finish that before I go back home on September 6th. It focuses on the Reaper's Apprentices characters. Then there is also a winter short story for a winter release with the Cirque Macabre characters. Finally, I also have a short story for Valentine's Day and a new Portman's Creamery novella. It's supposed to be under 20K but if it ends up going longer, I will make a typical PC book.

So where do all my novels fall in? In the next few days, I'm going to submit The Summer Key, sequel to the Winter Key. I'm also trying to wrap up a new f/f story, Lilacs and Vanilla. My goal is to have that one out by November or December, maybe earlier if I'm lucky. I haven't forgotten about any sequels. Ghosts of Burning Inn #3 has been in the back burner but I will wrap it up before the year is over. It might be under 50k but it will be done.

A few other things are happening here and there. I will let you know as they happen. I will also try to get more active on social media too.

End of July update

With July slowly coming to an end, I should probably do one more blog post. I know a lot of you have noticed that I've been silent on social media and I haven't done a whole lot of anything related to writing. A lot of it is because I'm bogged down by wedding planning and a lot of it is my own issues. It's very hard to get things down when you're being piled on by other things left and right. It gets hard to focus on writing with other factors coming in. So I've had to cut down on writing and take a little break for myself. That means I've got to implement a few changes.

First, I'm not going to be sending in a story of Solstice's fantasy or sci-fi anthologies. I simply do not have any time to come up with anything and I'm not in the mindset to do anything fantasy/sci-fi related. Not to mention, the due date is August 1st and I will not be able to get 5000 words down on something brand in two days. I probably will wait until the Winter Solstice anthology to send something in.

Although I took a break from writing, I'm slowly getting back into it. I made it to 31k on Ghosts of Burning Inn #3, which is pretty good for me. Rather than try to do 4000 words a day, I'm going to cut it down to 500 a day. I need to take a baby steps to get myself back in this writing mindset. I promise that once this wedding is over, things will go back to normal and I will hopefully be writing at a normal pace. Until then, just try to bear with me.
Coming up in the future!

Ghosts of Burning Inn #3
Lilacs and Vanilla (new F/F novel)
Delicate Things (an M/M novel)
A new story for the Authors in the City Anthology
A story for the Winter Solstice Anthology

Everything else is being worked on in between.
Take care of yourselves!

An update after a long time!

I know I didn't update very much in June and I'm sorry for that. This wedding is coming and going by so fast. Legally, I am married now so it makes things harder to catch up with. Still, I owe it to people to update now and then. I should tell you that I'm alive. My writing slowed down a bit at the end of June when my husband came around. I still have to think of music to put together for our videos and our dances. I have yet to do that.

Now here's an update of everything that I have so far.

Ghosts of Burning Inn #3: 26K
Patterns & Parallels #4: 24K
The Autumn Key: 24K
Lilacs and Vanilla (new f/f/ romance): 12K

TRA #4 is a mess currently but I'm trying to make it a little less messy right now. My Portman's books are on hiatus until further notice. Ditto with Smoke and Ashes, the conclusion to Sparks and Flames. I'm also hoping that I will try to find some time this week to start Flavors of Love #4 or Cirque Macabre #3. I will try to get back to Operation: Genome #2 as well.

SASS#16 in Norfolk is this weekend so I have some packing to do. I've made all my swag bags now and I just have to put the books away. Then it will be time to decide what to wear because it's going to be hot as hell over there.

Well, that's about all for now. Another update will come soon. Take care, all!

Friday, May 13, 2016

I haven’t updated in a while and I apologize for that. I’ve been busy trying to get things together and I haven’t really paid attention to my blog.

First, book updates. I’m putting my focus mostly on two books right now, In Too Deep (an erotica/sea story) and The Summer Key (sequel to The Winter Key). Once those two books are done or close to done, I will start working on the next books on the list. So here’s how it looks, based on order of importance and how far along they are.

Updates:

The Summer Key: 35K
In Too Deep: 27K
TRA #4 & P&P #4: 20K
Ghosts #3: 14K
Smoke and Ashes: 10K

The two Portman’s books are on the burner right now. I’m not in the mood to write anything Portman’s related right now. My next book to come out will be the next Flavors of Love book. It’s part one of a two-parter hence why it will feel different.

Also out is the new book, Roses In the Sand. A short, quick LGBT f/f novel. No connection with The Roses Were Red or The Roses Were White. It stands alone. Check it out.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EX2HTSQ

The audiobooks have also been updated. Here’s a list of all the audiobooks that are currently out now. A lot of them actually have covers now!

http://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_hp_tseft?advsearchKeywords=CS+Patra&filterby=field-keywords&x=0&y=0

I also got some new swag for SASS #16 coming my way tomorrow. Some of it got here on Monday. New lip balm and multi-purpose keychains. One last thing is that I will gone during the last week of May. I’ll be in Nebraska visiting my fiancé. That’s why I’m trying to do as much writing as I possibly can right now. God knows I won’t be able to do anything later.

Love,

~C

New changes

I did say that there would be new changes and I mentioned them in my last newsletter if you received it. If not, I might as well just reveal it now. I sent The Winter Key to a publisher (Solstice Publishing) and they have accepted it! That’s why Winter Key is no longer up. I also gave Sugar Mountain Murders and Midnight Lessons, which they also accepted. Right now, everything is in the pre-publishing stage. I cannot tell you when they will be out but hopefully it will be soon.

Another good thing is people are requesting audiobooks of Sparks and Flames and The Roses Were White this week. I’ve been giving audiobook codes left and right. The majority of them have been claimed, which makes me happy. The reviews should start to pour in soon.

I’ve also completed Roses in the Sand, a very short LGBT book. That should be out by the end of April or early May. I also need to prepare for SASS and I’m so behind on it right now. I probably won’t get into ordering swag till May.

Updates on current works:

Flavors of Love #3: 17K
Patterns & Parallels #4: 16K
The Summer Key: 30L
Portman’s Creamery #5: 6K

So far, I’m only rotating between four works. I’ve stalled on TRA #4 and In Too Deep but I hope to get my inspiration back for those two. Also, I hope to get inspiration for Smoke and Ashes (sequel to Sparks and Flames), the completion of the Black Paradise Circus arc, Ghosts of Burning Inn #3, and Operation: Genome #2. Maybe if I’m lucky, I might start Cirque: Macabre #3.

That’s about all for now. I hope you’re all doing well.

Two new audiobooks

This is a rather short post today. I have a bigger one coming up a little later but I just need to get this out. The audiobooks for Sparks and Flames and The Roses Were White are finally up on sale. We actually have covers for these books (and covers will be on the other books from this day forward).

Sparks and Flames: http://www.audible.com/pd/Romance/Sparks-and-Flames-Audiobook/B01DT6W3BK/ref=a_search_c4_1_13_srTtl?qid=1459985174&sr=1-13

The Roses Were White: http://www.audible.com/pd/Fiction/The-Roses-Were-White-Audiobook/B01DUTMIZC/ref=a_search_c4_1_12_srTtl?qid=1459985174&sr=1-12

There is also some exciting news regarding some of my books. If you signed up for my newsletter, you already know of it. If not, you will find out this weekend.

Much love,

Welcome April

April is finally here and that means new things are around the corner. First thing is first, we have some April sales. The first three books in The Reaper’s Apprentices and Patterns & Parallels Saga are on sale. I’m posting on the US links but they are cheap everywhere else too.

Hearts Under Ice:

Secondly, The Contracts is finally up on Audible for those of you who like listening to audiobooks. Awakened is also up there and In the Blood should be up there in late April/early May.

~ ~ ~

Thirdly, time to talk about future books. The only thing that I know will come out in April is The Sugar Mountain Murders (finally), the next Portman’s Creamery book. I got the edited manuscript back today and I just need the cover now. We’ll be good to go then. As for other works, it’s hard to say. My book after that one will either be The Summer Key or Roses in the Sand (formerly The Roses Were Pink). A lot has been changing with the books that I’m writing. Currently, these are the ones I’m focused on.

Roses in the Sand: 11K
Flavors of Love #3: Unpredictable Love: 12K
The Summer Key: 23K
Patterns & Parallels #4: Deep In the Heart of the Forest: 2K

I’ve also got two PC books (not far on either of them), In Too Deep (stalled on that), two TRA books (slightly stalled on #4), Smoke and Ashes (stalled on that), and Ghosts of Burning Inn #3 (not too focused on that now). I’ve taken Winter Key down just for the time being but it will be back up sooner than expected. We just need to make some adjustments. I also have some things coming out in anthologies. In one, I’ve got a one-shot of the girls from The Roses Were Red in it. It takes place a few years after The Roses Were Red does. More on that will come later.

One last bit of news, I’m going to Authors in the City next year and SASS as well! AITC will be in my hometown so that’ll be something to look forward to. The venue is only eight minutes from my house so that’s going to be fun. SASS will be in Baltimore. I’m looking at a few other venues too. My only signing this year is SASS in Norfolk. I have some personal stuff going on as well that will affect the rest of my year (in both, good and bad ways). I’ll go into those later too.

That’s about it for now. I’ll be back with more later.

Updating on a different day

I’ve got a few updates to make. There will be some links so be warned.
Two new audiobooks are out!
The Roses Were Red
http://www.audible.com/pd/Fiction/The-Roses-Were-Red-Audiobook/B01D263MJ4/ref=a_search_c4_1_9_srTtl?qid=1458258565&sr=1-9
Last Dance of the Roses
http://www.audible.com/pd/Romance/Last-Dance-of-the-Roses-Audiobook/B01D95VBCI/ref=a_search_c4_1_10_srTtl?qid=1458695923&sr=1-10

Also out are two new books!
In The Blood (The Reaper’s Apprentices #3)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D6VPBWG?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
The Roses Were White
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D3U63MC?*Version*=1&*entries*=0

I’m waiting to hear from my cover designer for the cover of Patterns & Parallels #3. That will most likely be the next book that comes out. Then will be The Sugar Mountain Murders (Mary Beth’s mystery) from Portman’s Creamery. After that, I have no idea what will be next. My other books are more or less on the same wavelength right now. I’m writing everything slowly but surely. I had a slow few days, which is why things moved rather slowly for me.

Updates on current works:
Flavors of Love #3: 8K
The Summer Key: 17K
In Too Deep: 13K
TRA #4: 13K
The Roses Were Pink: 3K

I’m also working on other things on the side such as Ghosts of Burning Inn #3, Operation: Genome #2, Smoke and Ashes, and three Portman’s related books. Those aren’t priority for me but they’re there. I will also have one more newsletter out as well before the month ends.

Organizing myself

I’ve been completely spacey today. I failed my formatter by giving him the wrong version of The Roses Were White. The book is complete. I’m just flopping with getting it out. Hopefully, the book will be released by tomorrow in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

Another thing to note that The Roses Were Red’s audiobook is headed to retail. Also, after a long line of technical difficulties, Last Dance of Roses is FINALLY headed to retail too. I hope to have them up soon.

The big problem that I’ve had lately is I’ve started too many projects and haven’t gotten far on them. Therefore, I’m going to try and focus on five at the moment. The five that I’ve picked to focus on are Flavors of Love #3, In Too Deep (a standalone), TRA #4, The Summer Key, and The Roses Were Pink (new LGBT novel). I’m not adding Midnight Lessons to this list as that one is nearing an end. Ghosts of Burning Inn #3 will also get some updates along the way as will some new Portman’s stuff and Operation: Genome #2. They just won’t be the main focus. I’ll update these as I feel.

Current updates:
Flavors of Love #3: 4K
In Too Deep: 10K
TRA #4: 11K
The Summer Key: 12K
The Roses Were Pink: (Not started, just outlining now)
Ghosts #3: 5K (almost got this back to where it was)

I have to update my pre-order form for SASS. I may not have Midnight Lessons available there but we’ll see. Currently, my plan is to get The Roses Were White up and then TRA #3. Then we are done for a little while.

Spring book goals:
The Roses Were White -March 17th or 18th
The Reaper’s Apprentices #3 – March 24th
Patterns & Parallels #3 – sometime in mid-April
Sugar Mountain Murders (Mary Beth’s mystery) – late April/early May

Summer is going to be a very busy time for me personal wise, which is why I’m not making many plans for it now. I definitely don’t know what fall 2017 will be like.

Tomorrow, I hope to have some links up. I’ll try to stop updating on Thursdays as well.

Update (Happy March)

Welcome to March, everyone. Things are coming in and going out. February was a very productive month though it kind of died down towards the end.

The main reason that things died down was because of my computer dying on me. Fortunately, I was able to salvage some of the most important things; Patterns & Parallels #3, The Sugar Mountain Murders (PC #4), TRA #3, and The Roses Were White. Everything else was work that I wasn't satisfied with or work I needed to rewrite. That means we will be rewriting Operation: Genome #2, Ghosts #3, TRA #4, and Winky's first mystery will be different as well. I'm going to put the Perfume Party Murders on the side for now. I'm also trying to get Midnight Lessons, my newest erotica, up and going but I feel so lazy on it right now.

New works:

OG #2: 1K
PC #5: 2K
TRA #4: 1K
The Roses Were White: 15K
The Summer Key: 3K
Midnight Lessons: 2K
Ghosts #3: 2K

Yes, a lot of these are far from where they were but that's okay. They needed to be rewritten.

I'll be back with a better update soon.

Old books, new books, etc

First thing is first, we got The Roses Are Red out on kindle. I decided to change the title and go with red instead of pink. It’s a short, quick read but it’s LGBT and starring African-American women in it. In fact, I don’t think there’s a single male character in this book. At least, there’s no one that’s very important. Feel free to check it out here.

The other thing that I managed to do was finish my fantasy novel, The Winter Key. That will probably be out sometime in early March along with TRA #3. I’m done for the month of February right now. Now that I finished The Winter Key, it’s time to go back to some older books. I have plans on wrapping up Sparks and Flames as well as going back to Perfume Party Murders and Winky’s mystery story.
There are also two new standalones coming: Love and The Line of Fire and one that’s untitled as of now. I have the characters names and that’s about it right now. I may also do another LGBT novel in the process.

Current works:
Sparks and Flames: 40K
Perfume Party Murders: 23K
Portman’s #5: 32K
TRA #4: 31K
Line: 3K

Ghosts of Burning Inn #3 is on the back burner right now as is TRA #5 and OG #3. Those are the works I’ll go back to if I get tired of my old stuff. As of now, I need a little break from writing so much. My brain is fried.

Newsletter!

At long last, I’ve made a newsletter for my stuff. It took me a while but I finally had time to do it. Therefore, I ask for one tiny favor from whoever is out there reading this. If you can, please tell me if you’re able to subscribe to it. I swear I will not spam you with a whole ton. At most, you will probably get one or two newsletters a month. That’s about it.
I’m excited to start using this!

More updates in February

February has already started out to be quite the month. There have been good and bad things that have happened to me.
Three books are out (though one technically released in January)
Taming the Thief
Last Dance of the Roses
Ghosts of Burning Inn #2: A Taste of Fame

We are having the release party for Taming the Thief tomorrow. It will be on Facebook and starting around 4 PM EST and ending around 10 PM EST. I’ve got the 7 PM EST spot.

In addition, we’ve got more audiobooks in production. Operation: Genome #1, Taming the Thief, Hearts Under Ice, Paper Hearts, and Last Dance of the Roses should be out in audiobook around March. I also completed Patterns & Parallels #3: Heart of Metalia so expect that out this year too.
I am officially going to SASS in Norfolk during July of this year. That may be the only signing I do because money has become tight. I’m already getting some swag for it. I’ll make my pre-order form sometime next month. By then, I’ll be certain what will be out and what won’t be.
The spring releases will probably be Heart of Metalia, The Roses Were Pink (a novella), and The Reaper’s Apprentices #3: In the Blood. When they will be out, I can’t say. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Updates on current works:
TRA #4: 27K
Sparks and Flames: 25K
Key of Winter: 17K
Perfume Party Murders #1: 18K
Portman’s Creamery #5: 31K

I also plan to start Operation: Genome #3 tonight if possible. I was working on it but I decided to go on another route with it. We’ll see if I’m in the mood for it. Lately, my mood has been swinging back and forth for many reasons.
I’ll be back with more soon.

Updates

Welcome to February. I had a longer post but I ended up erasing it instead for some reason. There are a lot of things happening this month with lots of takeovers, hops, and promotions. New books are also coming out. Last Dance of the Roses is set to be out by sometime next week. Then we’ve got a long break coming for us with the new books.
We also have three more audiobooks coming: Taming the Thief, Operation: Genome #1, and Hearts Under Ice. They are all due around March though they may be done sooner.
Ghosts of Burning Inn #2 finally came out as well.

Taming the Thief also released early.

In addition, I went back to the older works and updated them some. My goal is to get Patterns & Parallels #3 close to being finished by end of next week. Then we can move that to the side. Now that Last Dance of the Roses and The Roses Were Pink are done, I can return to old work.
Updates:
P&P #3: 42K
TRA #4: 26K
Sparks and Flames: 16K
Key of Winter (new book): 11K
Perfume Party Murders #1: 15K
Portman’s Creamery 5: 30K (will go back to this tomorrow)

I’m also trying to wrap up TRA #3, which is still very undone right now. Another thing I want out this year is Operation: Genome #2, which is done but needs everything like editing, cover, and formatting.
I’ll have a better post later on.

Teasers and new changes

I did say that this year is going to be the year of standalones and that hasn’t changed yet. Taming the Thief comes out February 9th and Last Dance of the Roses will probably come shortly after that. I’ve decided that the latter will probably be a novella. It’s so close to being wrapped up that I can’t squeeze more out of it.
Party on the 26th! Join in!

Here’s an updated list of books to come this year:
Cirque Macabre #2 (released Jan 12th)
Ghosts of Burning Inn #2 (releasing Feb 1st/2nd)
Taming the Thief (releasing Feb 9th)
Last Dance of the Roses (releasing Feb 25th or so. Depends on the editing)

Don’t forget about my new audiobooks that are out!
The Dangers of Art (A Becca Miyamoto Mystery)
The Reaper’s Apprentices #1: Awakened

Once Last Dance wraps up, I plan to finish up Patterns & Parallels #3. It shouldn’t take me much longer to wrap that up. That will be out in the spring most likely. Maybe I will also finish The Roses Were Pink as well. Snow days make me write way too much to be honest.
Anyway, I’ll see you around soon!

Parties and updates!

First thing’s first: we will be having a Taming the Thief cover reveal party on the 26th! That’s this Tuesday, everyone! We will have takovers and giveaways and lots of stuff. It starts around 10 AM UTC.
Secondly, there will be a release party for the book on February 10th. There will be more fun to be had and it will be going on for about six hours. More fun to be had over here!

I also wrapped up Ghosts of Burning Inn #2 and have gotten the cover for it. It looks sick! This book will most likely come out either late February or early March.

Updates on current works:
Last Dance of the Roses: 28K
The Roses Were Pink: 20K
Sparks and Flames: 7K
Perfume Party Murders #1: 13K

Yes, I still have sequels in work too but I’m slowing down on them right now. Once I can get a cover for Operation: Genome #2, that will come out in the summer. I also plan to wrap up TRA #3 this year (though whether it comes out this year or not remains to be seen).
More updates to come soon.
Much love,
~C

A slight update

I promise not to bombard this post with as many links this time around. I have other things to talk about as well so don’t worry!
First, my audiobooks for The Dangers of Art and Awakened are now available on Audible.
Second, I’ve got a few new things coming up for the future. Here’s an idea of what is coming in 2016 and what is out.
Cirque Macabre #2      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AH3MWNW?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
Taming the Thief         http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AIAK1G4?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
Ghosts of Burning Inn #2
Last Dance of the Roses
The Roses Were Pink
Arsenic and Diamonds (Perfume Party Murders #1)
The Sugar Mountain Murders
The Reaper’s Apprentices #3
Operation: Genome #2
Sparks and Flames

Now this doens’t mean everything will be published in this year. Things can change and they often do. This is just what I want. It doesn’t mean it will happen. After Ghosts #2, I’m not sure what book will literally be next. Last Dance of the Roses is possible as is The Sugar Mountain Murders (which is technically done. I just need to get the cover).
I have been writing during slow times at my job but last Friday our system went down and I had to leave the work I did for Sparks and Flames and Ghosts #3 behind. I’ll send it over when I go back on Tuesday.
That’s it for now!
